[Fifi] All that glitters

I LOVE glitters, shiny, new things.
Okay... maybe I'm not talking about a t-shirt that says "HOT BITCH" in plastic glitters.
but generally speaking, if it shines, I'm about 80% in.

I painted a picture few weeks ago.
The theme was 'Modern day Sleeping Beauty'
I was poor and had to use a small canvas and was also lazy, so used water colour ;)
But last night, I found some stash of GLITTERS!!!!!!
so, on it goes.

Oh man, I wish I had a sparkly dress like that(hahahahahahaha ;D )
Oh by the way, the end of the sleeves arent supposed to be gold,
but it was a lighter blue glitter, except when I was doing the giant gold part,
it got on the sleeves too! :(

My princess is ready for her prince!

And then-
I was bored again.
so I looked into my box full of junks my grandma gave me and found this!!
Ah, a heavenly gold broach with the broken clippy part.
so, I went to Bernina's and got some ribbons and ring thingies.

Do you like it? :D

P.S I shall be packing vigorously from now till I move to Wellington on the 3rd of Feb
I might take a photo of my ridiculous packings...
yay! I love packing(no sarcasm there, hehe)

and unpacking!(I hate this part)

[Fifi] Boredom

Just adding on the Trixie's movie reviews, I'll add The King's Speech.

I had  very low expectations for this film despite the amazing cast.
um let's see... I figured there isn't much to portray about the stuttering king.
But as I started watching the first few minutes of Colin Firth's scene,
I realised that he really did deserve the Golden Globe for this role.
I have to say there isn't much about the plot, but the pace is exciting throughout.
It kept me engaged. There were no depressingly gloomy scenes, which I liked,
but humour seems to be everywhere, even when the situation isn't so great for the casts.
I was amongst the older viewers at Gizzy cinema with a friend,
and it's very amusing listening to grandmas laughing at good old jokes :)
When I got out of the cinema, I felt empowered.
I felt fortunate and lucky that I didn't have speech problems,
but I think what they really wanted to say was the book isn't always about the cover,
both the characters and the film.
Go and watch it, it's worth the money :D

ANYHOW....
It's such a humid day.
I went shopping with a friend for her date outfit tonight.
and I found her a perfect dress and a cardigan.

I ended up getting some cheap stuff too.
two tees, and started taking photos when I got back home.
(sorry about my disgusting room ;D )

with a white vintage silk blouse from Sally's

are you liking the rubbish bag on my(your) right?
hehe, I'm packing for Wellington!

I actually don't really like this top, but it was cheap, aw well.
And stripes are easy

Oh, there is my pj pants! :D

[Trixie] Movie reviews of summer '10

I've been feeling un-inspired lately,
which is why this blog has been so quiet you could probably hear you ears ringing.

I've seen 3 films these holidays so far!

1) The Social Network
Hmmm I found this film number 1 on a "Best films of 2010" list.
I disagree, it wasn't the best film of 2010.
It was definitely worth my money and funny, but Jesse Eisenberg was annoying.
There were so many times I was to just jump right into that screen and rip his head off.
And the twins were amusing haha
Though you should bear in mind that half of the stuff in that movie was exaggerated
or just added for dramatic effect.
Don't take it too seriously

2) Love and Other Drugs
Yes, the two main protagonists are very good-looking but even looks don't save this film.
I haven't felt so deceived by a movie trailer since Despicable Me.
I'm such a cry-baby that I cry in nearly every movie I watch.
But this one, I didn't feel anything.
It was funny every now and then, but holy crap - !
There were some really intense bedroom scenes.
Kind of felt like 1/3 of the movie was just beautiful people doin' it.

3) Burlesque
This movie was so much fun! Loved it!
Christina Aguilera's acting was not bad - not deserving of an Oscar, but not too bad.
She still needs some practice though, that much is evident.
But her voice was amazing! And the dance numbers were really cool!
This movie made Katy and I really, really want to buy some sequined leotards and dance some burlesque.
Ohhh yeahhh hehehehe
Main guy is pretty good eye-candy too ;)

Fi watched The King's Speech a couple days ago.
I plan to watch this film asap! It's got some amusing stuff about Speech Therapy in it too :D
EXCITING BUSINESS eeeeep!
She might write a review on it here, if she feels like it ;)

[Trixie] Floral Falal

Okay,
I feel really bad because I changed my mind about going out to town twice in one week.

My mind has just been all over the place
(uni enrolment woes, money problems, I think my period is coming... etc).

I've been too lazy to post stuff on the blog,
and seeing as someone NINIA kept nagging me to make new posts,
I will!

And no, Ninia,
I do not hold you in contempt :)
Thanks for nagging me,
otherwise this blog would have to be renamed "Fifi's Style Orbit".
Hahahaha

Usually I keep at least a couple of days between posts but I know that if I don't post something tonight,
I will have scary nightmares ("scary" is redundant in this case... ) concerning a certain Cook Islander 0_0.

Bought this jumpsuit (I refuse to call these things "rompers" !) on trademe.

*sigh* trusty ol' trademe!

These photos have been in my computer for...
lemme check...
for more than a month

When I got my casual job my weeks suddenly got more hectic,
especially with my relatives visiting.
There was not enough time to post new stuff...
and honestly, I've been in a I-hate-my-clothes funk for months now.

But I'm too poor to go on a spree :(

Anyway, I hope this is enough to make you like me again,
fellow readers :)

P.S. so sorry for being M.I.A!
Hope you're all having a good 2011~

[Fifi] New Years

Happy New Years everyone!
I know this is a bit late since the last post.
I've been lazy, burning lying on the scorching sand at the beach.
Oh and the internet has been going crazy.

So, this year is a bit of a change for me;
I'll be leaving the University of Auckland
and move to Wellington to do the Bachelor of Radiation Therapy.
I've just found a flat and I hope it's not so crappy as I imagined it to be.
I'll finally catch up with Trixie in about couple of weeks and I'll make sure we have photos to prove that.

New years....
starts with an expectation. An expectation that I'll hopefully and finally stick to my resolution.
Of course, it is not likely that I'll stick to any of them,
but so far, so good.
As with the resolutions, I'm anticipating a change in style.
I want to try different things and not be afraid of it.

I was looking through the Spring collections and these struck out to me.

going back to simplicity, yet undeniable-
