[Trixie] Tatler May 2010

Is it just me,

Linguistics assignment done!
Only an archaeology essay and study for a medsci test to go
she says weakly.

Hope your day went well ~

[Trixie] Uncle Karl's work in Harper's Bazaar

[Trixie] We no speak americano

Don't know about you,
but if there's one thing I always crave
it is fashion magazines.

Yes yes,
magazines are the biggest waste of money
because once you've read the whole thing
you just sit there,
$8 poorer and completely bored again.

And just in case you are a fashion magazine junkie too,
my favourites are InStyle (Australian version) and Fashion Quarterly (NZ).

I don't really like the high-end ones like
Harper's Bazaar and Vogue
because they tend to have more articles and advertisements in them than clothes.
And when they do feature clothes,
they're usually Gucci, D&G, Burberry etc
Basically stuff that I can't afford anyway.

What I don't like about fashion magazines is
how they make you feel when you're flicking through the pages,
in awe at all the clothes, shoes, make-up etc

"Ooh, I like that... but can't afford it..."

"They don't have that shop in New Zealand..."

"That's sold out..."

when I saw my boots in some magazines
a few weeks ago after I had purchased them,
I felt so fashion-forward ;D

I just felt like I really achieved something :P

Cheap thrill...
no really, it was a cheap thrill.
Those boots were such a good deal

Oh, and the girl beside me in the last couple of posts is our exchange student.

I remember a time when we were boxing on Wii.
When it was her turn she went ballistic, began to flail her arms and started yelling,
"Maddie RARRRR!!!"
(Maddie goes out with this boy she likes)
It was so funny!

[Trixie] Gossiping à Paris

Who watches Gossip Girl?

We'd all have to agree that despite the storyline heading downhill
(really, Chuck and Jenny was just totally WTF stuff)
the clothes are still amazazazazingggg!

Filming for season 4 started in Paris a couple months ago.
They're so lucky...
frolicking in Paris wearing beautiful clothes?

Can we trade lives, pleazzzz???

I bet Blair is eating Parisian chocolate
so jealous !!!

[Trixie] Wide-eyed

Mid sem break!

For some people,
that means a whole two weeks of relaxation
with a bit of study here and there.

"Education must, then, be not only a transmission of culture but also a provider of alternative views of the world and a strengthener of the will to explore them."

For others,
the holidays mean assignments galore.

Let us pray for those poor souls

[Trixie] Super Pink Tutu

Nice big tutus are becoming 'fashionable' again.

When I say 'fashionable', I mean that the shops are stocking them and they're what you see on the runway.

Actually, I hate that term -

It makes it sound like wearing an item of clothing is unacceptable just because it's not currently what's in the shops.

But having an entire outfit that's 'fashionable' makes me cringe.
From hair to bag to clothes to shoes...

If what you're wearing now can't be worn next year without you looking 'out-dated',
then you've got a problem.

Be more original.

It's boring being a sheep.
Be the ram with horns!

(But eww flippin' flip flops to Uni will never be acceptable.
Put on some real shoes ya hobo.)

[Trixie] Celine pre-fall

I saw similar-looking green suede wedges
and I can't stop thinking about them.

But I'm too poor

Been getting distracted by watching Pokemon

Look at this hilarious list of the 10 Ugliest Pokemon

"Researchers are unsure whether to classify Bulbasaur as a plant or animal." - Pokedex.

Ahh the difficulties of being a Pokemon researcher.

Bulbasaur just tackled Misty!
"Hey! It's rude to tackle people!" - Misty

P.S. That last outfit is so cute!

[Trixie] Sandra Suy, another Illustrator.

"To make life more bearable and pleasant for everybody, choose the issues that are significant enough to fight over, and ignore or use distraction for those you can let slide that day. Picking your battles will eliminate a number of conflicts, and yet will still leave you feeling in control."

Hope your week is going well :D

[Trixie] Perseverance

[Trixie] Burberry Porsum in GQ

What a hottie.

I like his jacket.
The elbow pad things are kinda cool...

love his hair.

"Men have a low threshold for distraction. They are delicate. They are made nervous by having to do more than one thing at a time. They feel frazzled and angry if they have to answer three phone calls, and have a hard time settling back to work after the trauma. Women, on the other hand, develop the skill of doing many things at once. They tuck the phone in between their shoulders and their ears, hold a baby on one hip, stir a pot on the stove, all the while thinking about an idea for a story. They don't think it's unfair to have to do this. They think it's normal."
Barbara Cawthorne Crafton

[Trixie] Viva Moda !

The magazine Viva Moda

I think it's Italian...

And I think the model's called Bianka.

I think... not too sure.

I don't know,
I just saved these photos as "Viva Moda - Bianka".

And I really have no idea whether the name of the magazine is Bianka
and the model's name is...
Viva... Moda... ?

I'm pretty sure the name of the mag is Viva Moda.

This photo ^ is awesome.

I like her shoes...
 and her jacket.

And the hair. Hah.

I am so diggin' this hair.
So hot.
(no sarcasm intended!)
